On the morning of 7 February, the Launch Ceremony of the UED Student Startup Competition 2026 was held at the University of Education – The University of Danang. Under the theme “Nurturing Innovation – Shaping Enterprises,” the event attracted more than 200 students from the University of Education and other educational institutions across the city.
Among the distinguished attendees was Mr. Nguyen Viet Toan, Director of the Da Nang Innovation Startup Support Center.

In his opening remarks, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Vice Rector of the University of Education – The University of Danang, announced the official rollout of the University’s 2026 innovation and entrepreneurship agenda, with a strategic focus on accelerating commercialization and technology transfer.
Building on the achievements of 2025—particularly the effective implementation of the “Triple Helix” collaboration model among Government, University, and Industry—the University will continue to make substantial investments in digital infrastructure, startup support funds, and the establishment of university-based enterprises.
Students are positioned at the core of the entrepreneurial ecosystem and are encouraged to leverage available institutional resources to transform innovative ideas into practical products and solutions that serve the community and contribute to the sustainable development of Da Nang.

As part of the program, the University of Education – The University of Danang signed a series of cooperation agreements and sponsorship memoranda with various partners. Notably, a tripartite cooperation agreement was concluded among the Da Nang Innovation Startup Support Center, the Innovation and Startup Support Center of the University of Education – The University of Danang (UED), and Ngoi Sao Human Resource Development and Management Consulting Co., Ltd..
The cooperation agreement aims to strengthen the University’s role within the city’s innovation ecosystem, enhance training and practical capacity in sustainable development aligned with ESG standards and the United Nations’ United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and foster stronger linkages among students, experts, enterprises, and domestic and international investment funds.

In addition, the official launch ceremony of the “UED Student Startup Competition 2026” took place during the program. According to the Organizing Committee, the competition will accept applications until 2 March and is open to students from universities and colleges across the city, with each team comprising up to five members.
Proposed ideas and projects may span a wide range of fields, including educational technology, information technology, artificial intelligence, big data, social innovation, environment, tourism, culture, media, arts, psychology, and social work. Entries are expected to demonstrate originality, practical applicability, and strong potential for sustainable development.
Beyond competing for awards, participants will benefit from structured startup training, in-depth mentorship, and expert networking opportunities to progressively refine their business models and strategic development plans. The total prize value amounts to over VND 60 million.
Furthermore, the program featured thematic presentations on entrepreneurship, covering practical topics such as global entrepreneurial mindset, brand building, career pathway orientation, transforming ideas and research into marketable products, and developing enterprises that generate sustainable value.

The UED Student Startup Competition 2026 not only ignites the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship among students but also establishes an incubation, mentorship, and networking environment that enables promising ideas to progressively move toward commercialization. The competition thereby contributes to the formation and development of a university-based startup ecosystem and makes a meaningful contribution to the sustainable development of Da Nang.
